One is at the leading edge of the bottom of the panel. The other is just forward of the door pull. The door inner trim panel has several very sturdy molded hanger hooks on its backside. These fit into openings in the door inner metal and when the trim piece is pushed downward, grip onto the door metal.

The only area of the door inner that I haven’t searched visually is where the door latch mechanism is bolted to the door fenderwell panel. This is because it is not possible to see in there due to metal concealing that area. Disconnect the harness connector and with an ohm meter check the resistance of the door ajar switch,two small wires yellow/black and black. The resistance should change from an open to a closed circuit with the movement of the latch assembly. If it does not change the switch is faulty.

Why does my Chevy Silverado say left rear door is ajar?
Door is shut, but the “Left Rear Door Ajar” message displays on instrument panel, and the interior lights won’t turn off because the computer thinks the door is ajar. Tried shutting door multiple times with no change. Any suggestions short of bashing out all the interior lights?
