When do you change the chain on a 9-3 Saab?

I think you may have found a reference to the cam BELT change interval’s on the Saab V6 engine….which is every 60k miles. The car’s done 95k miles, and I’ve seen recommendations that the chain is changed at 60k.

Why does my Saab feel harsh at high revs?

Basically, I’ve just had the car serviced by a Saab specialist and they reported the car felt a little ‘harsh’ at high revs (not something I’d noticed, but this is my first Saab so I don’t really have anything to compare against). They suggested it could be a sign that the timing chain was beginning to go.

When did the second generation Saab 9-3 come out?

The most drastic change from the former generation was the elimination of the hatchback design. The second-generation 9-3 was available as a four-door saloon, an estate (introduced in late 2005 as a 2006 model, known as the SportWagon, SportCombi or Sport-Hatch dependant on the market), and a two-door convertible (introduced in 2004).

What kind of coolant does a Saab 9-3 use?

Coolant flush on an 2006 2.0t Saab 9-3. This should be the almost same for 2004-2011 variants of the 2.0t 9-3. For flushing I recommend picking multiple gallons of distilled water from the grocery store (usually about a $1 or less each), and you will need a secure container to hold the used coolant for recycling.

When to replace the water pump on a Saab 9-3?

As such, sometimes it seems “too soon” with every major service interval (I’m thinking every 60k miles on a 2004 Saab 9-3) so subsequent options would be to include the job whenever the coolant gets flushed or when the water pump or coolant hoses get replaced.
