What to do if your Honda Foreman has no spark?

What to do if your Honda Foreman has no spark?

In a nutshell , if you are having a no spark / intermittent spark issue then consider replacing the voltage rectifier / regulator. $27 on Amazon and 5 minutes to replace. It’s not always the CDI / ICM.

How to trace down my no spark condition?

Discussion in ‘ Tech Area ‘ started by silverz50, Feb 3, 2009 . ok guys i have a new stator points plug etc.. black and red.. red going to the lights and black for ignition.. my understand is that the black should give 6v AC current to the coil. when the ign switch is off it make ground to the coil and shutting it off..

What to do if your car has no spark?

Well for no spark, forget about the red stator wire. Your concerned with black wire only. Disconnect the stator plug from the coil plug. Connect the red lead of your meter to your black Stator wire. Connect the other lead of your meter to the frame/ground.

How to measure no spark on a Z50?

Disconnect the stator plug from the coil plug. Connect the red lead of your meter to your black Stator wire. Connect the other lead of your meter to the frame/ground. When you kick the engine over, you should get and ac voltage (actually a pulsing DC) that approaches 6 volts, however, I would measure it using the dc range.

Why does my Honda Accord not get a spark?

There are three primary things that will keep the engine from getting a spark: A bad ignition coil, a bad igniter, and a bad distributor. To check the ignition coil, measure the resistance between the + terminal (black/yellow wire) and the – terminal (white/blue wire) of the coil.

What should ignition resistance be on Honda Accord?

To check the ignition coil, measure the resistance between the + terminal (black/yellow wire) and the – terminal (white/blue wire) of the coil. The resistance should be about 0.6 to 0.8 ohms at 70° F. Then check the resistance between the + terminal (black/yellow wire) and the coil wire terminal. It should be about 12,000 to 19,200 ohms at 70° F.

Why is my Honda Foreman 400 not cranking?

Fuel checked out fine , battery checked out fine , all switches on and operational , no blown fuses , no burnt or chewed wires , bike was in neutral , etc. All the easy stuff wasn’t it. Replaced the spark plug , still won’t crank.

Is there way to check stator / pickup coil?

You need a peak voltage tester to check the pulse generator (blue/yellow wire + and green/white wire -) and the peak voltage is 0.7V. Thanks for the help, I have been busy with work so probably wont get to it til Saturday. Is there a way to check the stator once it’s removed.

Can you replace a CDI box at Rick’s Motorsport?

Rick’s Motorsport Electrics, Inc offers both OEM style and Hot Shot Series aftermarket replacement CDI boxes. Is there a cranking rpm listed in the Honda Foreman forums?

I have a honda manual & checked it out . the pulse generator is only making .2-.3 volts while cranking. I installed a new one that had the same ohm resistance as the old one & checked the wire & -ground-same low voltage. Is there a cranking rpm listed anywhere? I have battery voltage to the ICM while cranking. Anyone have any thoughts?
