What should I do about my XR hard start?

What should I do about my XR hard start?

Give it 15 to 20 minutes, then switch sides…15 to 20 more minutes or so should do it. Engine is PRE-WARMED and fires nicely. Also I have found that when stopping, by turning the gas off just before hitting the kill switch, it makes for much easier re-start. Hope this helps….

My XR250R is starting pretty good still and I would estimate it has 400 miles on it maybe more all off road one enduro under it’s belt and mostly trail riding other than that, I have changed the plug once, just for the hell of it, and changed the oil regularly, runs fine and quiet too.

When cold, my 400 is a biaotch to start. Sounds like valves all right. If they are adjusted properly it should start easily by doing the following.

Why is my 1975 XL350 hard to start?

I started my 1975 XL350, which had been sitting since last summer, on 3 kicks! drained the old gas outta the carb first and fired right up. That is one sweet running XL350 and talk about torque, man that thing is a stump puller! Could this also cause it to foul a plug and p!ss me off to the moon?!?!
