What is 11B and 11X?
Army MOS 11X is the overall term for the infantry job field. It involves multiple Military Occupational Specialties including MOS 11B and MOS 11C. Meanwhile, Army Infantryman (MOS 11B) is an actual military job title with a specific list of duties and responsibilities.

Yes. Any Soldier can be deployed with just about any MOS in the Guard, Reserve or active component.
What does 11B stand for?
For the uninitiated, 11B stands for 11 Basic Information. This includes your name, NRIC number, photo, race, blood group, birth date, country of birth, sex, service status, military rank status and address.
How do you guarantee 11B?
You cannot enlist with a guarantee for MOS 11B. Instead, you enlist under the Army’s 11X – Infantry Enlistment Option, and during training, you will be designated as either MOS 11B, Infantryman, or MOS 11C, Indirect Fire Infantryman. But you have to earn it, meeting the standards along the journey while in training.

Indirect Fire Infantryman (11C) As the main land combat force of the Army, Infantrymen capture or destroy opposing ground forces, repel enemy attacks and operate weapons and equipment in order to engage and eliminate the enemy. During peacetime, it’s the Infantry’s job to be ready to jump to the defense of our country.
