What makes a Buell S3 Thunderbolt motorcycle different?
Like all Buells, but unlike most other sport and sport-touring bikes, the engine of the S3 is left open to view. There is no bodywork to hide that big powerplant. The visible V-twin motor is probably the easiest way to identify a Buell American Motorcycle. In a world of look-alike sport bikes, nothing else looks like a Buell.

Is the Buell S1 a good bike to ride everyday?
Same as the S1 the old Buell’s are collector bikes and can fetch quite a good price. Reason for that is the limited production numbers of those. However they are certainly no bikes to ride everyday as the reliability is zero. These bikes are good to drive to ride-outs, shows etc. as they need a service after every ride to not break down.

Is it safe to ride a Buell bike at idle?
The bike does shake/lope a little bit at idle, but it is smooth as silk once you get above 2500. I have never had a major problem or a minor one for that matter. The motor is solid and doesn’t leak. If you’re thinking about a Buell, get an older tube frame Buell, you won’t be disappointed.
