What kind of electrics did the Velocette Venom use?
The Velocette Venom used Miller electrics up to 1962, with a belt-driven dynamo. After 1962 this was upgraded to a Lucas system. The speedometer, ammeter and light switch on the original Venoms were fitted into a steel headlamp nacelle; the optional rev counter had to go on a bracket.
When did the venom Velocette Viper come out?
Introduced in November 1955 and launched at the same time as the 349 cc Velocette Viper, the single-cylinder Venom was developed from the Velocette MSS and needed to compete against a new range of British twin-cylinder motorcycles.

What was the first year the Velocette Venom was made?
At the 1947 TT, the company won the first four places in the Junior race, and in 1950 they were the 350 cc World Champions. The 1954 499 cc Velocette MSS proved a successful export to the American desert racing scene, prompting the development of scrambler and enduro versions of the bike, the 349 cc Viper and 499 cc Venom, both introduced in 1956.

When did the Velocette Viceroy motorcycle come out?
In 1960 Velocette introduced the Viceroy, a very unusual 250 cc opposed twin two-stroke scooter. Unique to the Viceroy was the front mounted twin cylinder engine, and the gas tank mounted under the front legshield.
