I prefer synthetics and so does Rockwell and Eaton in over the road trucks. Synthetics can work at elevated temperatures. I use NAPA DynaLube 75w-90w, in both axels. In yours it is probably best if you use the MOPAR, LSD additive, just to be sure, as it is recommended for the TracLoc differential.

And, unlike previous Jeep Wranglers, it will not be necessary remove the differential cover in order to do this. Granted, I do recommend that you do so anyway from time to time (every other fluid change) as it will give you a chance to inspect your gears and catch any damage or unsual wear.

I use the RGO. It’s rated GL-6. Currie ind likes it and they know diffs. Correct, the lockers do not need any additive to function properly.
