How does the Boot open on a Mercedes?
When activated with the remote, the boot on my car opens about an inch but doesn’t swing fully open on it’s own as intended. If I take the warning triangle out of the lid it swings open fine. It’s as though the springs in the boot mechanism don’t have enough grunt to start off the opening process.
Is there a secondary opening on the boot lid?

My 12 year old E class does the same. Always has. If I push in the boot release button, it pops up 1″. It does have the wonderful old heavy metal warning triangle. It makes the new plastic one look a joke. My advice is leave it. Is it that much of a difficulty to lift the lid 10″ with ones finger?

If you look closely at the lining you will see there is a lip at middle top which must be engaged under the edge of the rear window stop light housing, hold the lining at 45% to the boot lid lip it under the lamp housing and the lower lining onto the boot lid and secure.
