What is the normal engine coolant temperature for Jeep?
The operating range is 195-210 on your vehicle. Also if the PCM is reset it does take up to 2000 miles to re learn all the adaptive memory and your driving habits and also to relearn all the fuel maps and make correct adjustments as well Understandable.
What is the normal operating temp for a 2004 Cherokee 4.7?
What is the normal operating temperature be for a 2004 Cherokee 4.7. Would that also about 210 ? This weekend I will be replacing the Thermostat, thermostat sensor, radiator cap and doing a radiator flush. hopefully this will resolve the over heating issue. I have been noticing my clutch fan as been coming on more often.
What should the temp of water be in a Jeep Cherokee?
Considering water boils at 212 deg. Now you have antifreeze under Pressure, That will take about 230-240 to boil. So ya I’d Say thats about right too give ya heat in the winter. You could go as low as a 160 deg stat, But You will get less heat.. 1988 Jeep Cherokee w/ 410,000+ miles.
What should the temp be on a 2014 Jeep Wrangler?
I have a 2014 JKUR and usually run 210-215. I recently did a trip pulling a trailer about 2000 pounds and crossed the continental divide on I-70 about 11,000′. Even with that and the AC on the temp only got up to about 220.
What should the coolant temp be on a Jeep Wrangler?
CTS ohms should be consistent with the actual coolant temperature. That is why I suggested measuring the thermostat housing temperature—close to the coolant temp sensor. Compare the real coolant temperature to the CTS and gauge reading; see whether the sensor and gauge are accurate for the coolant temperature.

What’s the operating temp of a 1988 Jeep Cherokee?
1988 Jeep Cherokee w/ 410,000+ miles. Now a 100% Electric Vehicle! Hi, I was going to post a similar thread. My 91 YJ (with a 4 banger) had an operating temp of 210°F. I just replaced the thermostat (and heater core and their hoses along with a rad flush) with a 180°F variety.
What is the normal coolant temperature for a 2011 JGC?
What is the normal coolant… What is the normal coolant temperature for a 2011 JGC once it is warmed up? Where should the coolant gauge needle sit (3/8, 4/8, what?). Thanks for using JustAnswer!. If you live in a cold climate then the gauge reads fine, 190-200 f .

What should the fuel gauge be in a cold climate?
If you live in a cold climate then the gauge reads fine, 190-200 f . If the climate is warm, it should be around 210 f that would be between the half mark and 3/4’s.Again if the climate is cold, an increase in the fuel consumption is normal. I live in Atlanta for an idea of climate. The temp has been between 32 and 48 degrees F during this problem.

How does the outside temp affect the coolant?
The outside temp has no effect on the coolant temp once warmed up. The thermostat regulates coolant temp regardless if it is -20 out or 120 out. The coolant temp sensor measures the temp off the coolant in the engine not the radiator. Here is the description from chrysler
What should the fan temp be on a Jeep Wrangler?
Heading to the shore this week, will see how high it goes. Just lowered the fan temp to 180*. Did not see much difference.
What’s the normal coolant temp for a 2015 Jeep?
190-200F is normal under light load. Up to 210F towing in heat with AC on. I’m a 2015 3.6 with heavy duty cooling. The 3.6 seems to come up to temp pretty quick according to the dummy gauge so I would suspect it wouldn’t even be an issue of short trips. It could also be an issue of maintaining proper temperature.
What’s the normal coolant temp for an engine?
Oil temps +/- 10-20°F of the Water Temp are pretty normal, at least for the 5.7L… …very cold ambients or very low load and the engine just warmed up, the oil might be cooler than water temp, very high ambients, very heavy load and the engine has been running at operating temp for hours, the oil temp might be higher than water temp….

Where is the thermostat located on a jeep?
Give it another 100 miles then. The thermostat is located on the top of the engine in the center front of the engine cover. Its a black housing with the upper radiator hose going to it. So i doubt it was damaged from your deer strike Was this answer helpful?

What should the coolant and oil temp be?
Coolant temps usually around 192-194, oil temps 205-212. Hey guys, I just got a P0128 code on my ’12 JGC with the 3.6 and I changed my thermostat… Click to expand… If the engine is taking to long to warm-up, then yes the first suspicion should be the thermostat.
What’s the coolant temp on a jeep 5.7L?
On the 5.7L, the fan turns on full at ~224°F, its thermostat temp is 203°F, with good airflow through the radiator, like moving at some speed, it typically runs a few degrees cooler than the thermostat 203°F and very hot days or with heavy loads, it might run a degree or two higher than 203°F.
What should the temp of the coolant sensor be?
Check that the temperature value of the CTS is around 80-90c when the engine is hot. A lot of engine coolant temperature sensors have two wires and the sensor is controlled by Ohm. Get a wiring diagram and find out what ohms you should have at a specific temperature to check the function.
What to do if your engine coolant keeps dropping?
Regardless, you changed the thermostat, make sure the cooling system is full of the correct antifreeze and water (you really need to check under the pressure cap ONLY WHEN THE ENGINE IS COLD to know the system is full, not the bottle). If it keeps coming back and especially if your coolant level keeps dropping, then start looking for leaks.
What happens when the engine temp goes up?
So if you don’t have enough airflow through the radiator, like sitting at a stop, the engine temp will rise slowly till it hits the highest acceptable point, the electric fan will turn on and cool it back down to the normal temp given you some safety margin for engine temps to spike up a bit without endangering the engine…

What should the temperature be on a Jeep Cherokee?
I have never seen an XJ that runs the “195Degree” optimal temperature without help ie upgrades or constant maintenance and low mileage most run about 200-210 wich is running hot to me before I get beat up about that statement keep in mind that is my experience here in Texas with our heat Good replies so far!
Why does my Jeep Cherokee Run so hot?
Lol, but I’d be more likely to put in a 195 or slightly hotter stat in than leave it completely without one Engines with no stat will have trouble warming up, except on a hot day. Then they will run hot and not cool down from the coolant not spending enough time in the radiator to remove heat.
What kind of thermostat do you use on a Jeep Cherokee?
Let’s go off of the assumption that all fans are properly shrouded and in good, working condition and the systems are full of a 50/50 mix of antifreeze and water and all air has been purged from the systems. Lets hear it!! I use a Mr Gasket 180F and have had no problems.
What should normal operating temp of jeepz be?
This is an old post. FYI you need to run a 195 deg thermo. The temp will run at 210 and the PCM will adjust the air fuel to try to attain 210. By running 165 you are not allowing the engine to come to temp and gain the efficiency it can reach. I doubt the intake and headers directly caused you to run hotter.
What should my operating temp be on my 91 YJ?
My 91 YJ (with a 4 banger) had an operating temp of 210°F. I just replaced the thermostat (and heater core and their hoses along with a rad flush) with a 180°F variety. Now my operating temp has dropped to about 185°. I assume this is because of the thermostat change (and possibly the other cooling system replacements).
Can a Jeep Grand Cherokee Run too cool?
The fan can come on at any time. P0128 is not a serious threat to the immediate drivability of your Grand Cherokee. It should be noted that most modern fuel injected engines to like to run at 200+ degrees. Letting them run too cool can problems after an extended period of time.
Why is the thermostat on my Jeep Grand Cherokee not working?
Grand Cherokee Thermostat Wiring – If the thermostat itself isn’t the problem, it’ll be the wiring/sensor associated with engine water temp detection, or the coolant temperature sensor itself. If playback doesn’t begin shortly, try restarting your device.
