What is EtaProof?
EtaProof is a development of British traditional performance cotton, extra long staple fibre yarns are gently spun and twisted, then woven into an extremely dense plain weave cloth.
Is ventile really waterproof?
As the story goes, Ventile works by the cotton fibres swelling up and making it waterproof. This means the fabric gets wet, and when wet no more water will pass through.
Is ventile breathable?
Ventile® is a completely natural fabric made from cotton. It is durable, highly breathable and quiet which makes it perfect for hunting, nature watching, bushcraft, nature photography and cold weather sports.
Is woven cotton waterproof?
Densely woven branded fabrics Fabrics made of cotton or synthetic micro denier filament yarns with compacted weave structure are trusted to be water repellent and even water proof because they are made with this purpose – with very little pores between them so that the water will not pass through them.
Can ventile be dyed?
Due to the incredibly dense structure of the fabric, Ventile® is pre-treated and dyed using a specifically developed process to ensure the best possible dye penetration, whilst avoiding creases, stains, stripes and shading which would affect the end product.
Does ventile need Reproofing?
In time your Hilltrek® Ventile® garment may eventually require to be reproofed. There is a careful balance between keeping your Ventile® garment clean and over washing. Washing a Ventile® garment often will result in the garment discolouring faster and the water repellency will have to be restored.
