New member. The best reason is that lower forms can learn moves faster so if you keep a bulbasaur from evolving, it will learn double edge at level 27 where as Ivysaur learns it at 31 also bulbasaur can learn seed bomb at 37 but neither ivysaur nor venasaur can learn that attack.
