Why is my Peugeot 207 GTi in limp mode?
The limp mode was due a common problem with the original timing chain tensioner. The engine was built by Mini, the timing tensioner would fail resulting in stretched chain. The part was updated but my car never got one so I found a good mechanic, that knew his Peugeot’s (not a stealership) and bought the parts myself.

Which is better Peugeot 207 or Peugeot 205?
The 207 is quicker, more refined, quieter, roomier, friendlier at the limit, better built, packed with kit, doesn’t kangaroo in traffic and is far safer. I dread to think how many NCAP stars a 205 GTi would get – but it certainly wouldn’t match the 207’s four. Stuff like that matters to the modern hot hatch buyer.
