What engine is 2ZZ-GE?
Based on the 1.8L VVTi 1ZZ-FE engine, the 2ZZ-GE was completely reworked by Yamaha. The engine follows Honda’s approach, a small displacement, high-revving naturally aspirated engine. It was the first Toyota engine to feature “VVTL-i” technology which stands for Variable Valve timing with Lift intelligence.
Can you put a 2ZZ-GE head on a 1ZZ Fe block?
The 2ZZ-GE head will not fit onto the 1NZ-FE block, same thing with the 1ZZ head. The 5 speed from the Matrix only fits the 1ZZ, and the 6 speed from the 2ZZ only fits the 2ZZ. If you want to add a 6 speed trans. to a 1NZ-FE that is possible but finding the correct transmission is really hard!
Which engine is better 1ZZ or 2ZZ?
A used 2ZZ is cheaper than building the 1ZZ. It will make more torque everywhere, and will make the same power at lower boost which means it will be more reliable, less knock prone etc. It also has a much higher redline which means you can stretch each gear to a higher speed which means the car is much faster overall.
How fast is a 2ZZ engine?

How long does the 2ZZ engine last?

Is the 1ZZ Fe a good engine?

Is 2zz GE reliable?
The biggest issue with 2zz engines were the early engines had a problem with their oil pumps so see if it has a new engine or a new pump. As far as reliability, make sure they have had regular oil changes because it has a timing chain and it’s really expensive to fix if it ran without regular oil changes.
How do I know if I have 1ZZ or 2zz?
Different parts include crank, rods, pistons, valves, and more. The block has a larger bore (the 2ZZ has a larger bore than the 1ZZ, and a shorter stroke). The crank is different to reflect the shorter stroke. The rods and pistons are different to give the appropriate compression ratio and valve clearance.
