Why are my VDC and SLIP lights still on?

Same issue occurred with VDC and Slip lights. Drove it 800 miles trying the same advice to no luck. Went back to the dealer for another $135 charge. Last month my alternator died and again, after I replaced it, the VDC and Slip lights are back on.
