What does it mean when your RV battery goes dead?
The fact that the lights got brighter when you started the engine is an indication that the batteries are indeed very low, if not completely dead. The engine alternator was simply providing the DC voltage while the engine was running.
Do you have to unhook the battery to charge it?
In the owner’s manual, it says that the battery should be unhooked to charge it to avoid damaging the electronic equipment. I was wondering if this is actually necessary since jumping the car does not require this (I would assume that jumping the car puts much more stress on the electronics than using a dedicated charger). What do you guys think?
Can a trickle charger charge a car battery?
I often had battery issues with my old car because I used the car so little and it gets very cold where I live. Since the car is brand new, and the battery is probably on the dead side since the car has not been used, I purchased a 12V battery charger (trickle charger/maintainer). It has 2 charging modes 0,75 amps and 2 amp.
Why does my coach battery go dead when plugged in?
If you can measure an increase in DC voltage at the battery bank when the coach is plugged in, then the battery charge circuit is at least complete and probably working. If the voltage does not go up when plugged in, look for a blown fuse in the charge circuit in the converter/charger.
Can a Honda CRV over charge the battery?
When the engine is running, the alternator charges the battery. But the CR-V’s alternator can sometimes over or under charge the battery, reducing its performance either way. In February of 2013, Honda released TSB #12-002 outlining procedures for alternator testing with a GR8 Diagnostic Battery Station.
Why does my Honda CRV battery keep draining?
Unfortunately this TSB only applies to a specific VIN range of 2017 CR-Vs. The A/C relay in 4th generation CR-Vs may stay engaged after the engine is shut off, according to TSB #A11090M. An electrical short and failed resistor means the relay gets stuck in the open position, draining the battery through the multiplexing system.
Why does the 5th generation CRV draw power from the battery?
The vehicle stability assist (VSA) software in the 5th generation CR-V may continue to draw power from the battery after the vehicle is turned off. In TSB #17-032, titled Parasitic battery draw from VSA modulator (vehicle will not start), Honda says the VSA software logic may not shut down correctly when:
