My 270cdi had a problem with very similar symptoms. Started off fine, then after a few miles it seemed like the turbo stopped working. Boot to the floor, but no signifigant response, very very slugish to accelerate of climb, and topped out around 75mph.

I was wondering if it was not something simple like a relay or a “noisy” kick down switch or simply the oxygen sensor that is dirty – apparently it can be cleaned by leaving it in engine cleaner for an hour or two? Another C200K owner suggested it could be a compressor problem.

Am experiencing the same intermittent loss of power with my ML270 CDI as “Tony jr” as it becomes dangerous to drive on the highway especially where a hill is concerned or when overtaking. The car will not exceed 40kph on some hills.

* Mercedes ECU doesn’t count a misfire as a misfire until it misses something like 15 out of 600 firings. fuel to the cylinder it will definitely throw a code. even is it doesn’t register a code.
