What are the side effects of DUKORAL?

Is DUKORAL worth taking?
The most common bacteria that causes diarrhea is enterotoxigenic Escherichia coli (ETEC). Dukoral helps to protect you against this type of bacteria. So this means that while Dukoral can provide a nice layer of protection against traveller’s diarrhea, it will not completely eliminate the risk of getting sick.
Can you drink water after taking DUKORAL?
Do not eat or drink anything, including water, for 1 hour after taking DUKORAL®. Date: DUKORAL® is an oral vaccine that is used to help prevent diarrhea caused by enterotoxigenic E. coli (or ETEC) producing a heat-sensitive toxin (called LT) and/or cholera.

How long is DUKORAL good for?
Dukoral is taken as 2 doses 1 week apart on an empty stomach. The doses should be stored in the fridge until used. After completing the course, the protection will last 3 months, and as long as it has been less than 5 years from the last dose a booster dose is only required to regain protection for another 3 months.
