Is there a way to grease the steering cable?
There are grease fittings for the rudder (from inside hull), and you could disconnect the rack from the steering hub and grease there, but you can’t do anything for the cable. Same as he said, I just replaced my cable also. there’s no where to grease the cable.
How do you clean a power steering reservoir?
Let all the fluid drain out and then reattach the hose and fill the system to just slightly above the full mark. Put the cap back on and start the engine. Turn the steering wheel slowly all the way to the right and then all the way to the left. Do this around 10 times. Check the fluid level and add as necessary to reach the full mark.
How do you lubricate a steering wheel shinning cable?
It’s lubed from the back by the rudder itself. Turn your wheel all the way in the direction that the cable is all the way out. One way it will be all the way in, and the other way about 12″ or so of the shinning cable will be sticking out. Use a spray lube on the shinng cable that is sticking out. Then work the wheel back and forth.
What kind of Grease do you use on a Volvo?
