Is there a torque back off on a Polaris clutch?
I know because it has never happen to me and I would be guessing that due to all the work on clutching and testing over the last 16 years I have been in a clutch as much as anyone and more than most and I have never had a bolt back off. The main tech at duraclutch works at Polaris in the clutch dept, in 30 years he has never torqued one either.
What’s the torque on a Polaris EBS clutch?
Just looked a little closer, looks like the EBS primary bolt is 40ft-lbs not 47. According to my service manual it’s 47ft-lbs for the primary & 13ft-lbs for the secondary. I’m sure it’s the same for a 2017. I’ll be doing a QSC clutch kit this weekend on mine. Ryan is a busy man, but I know he’ll get back to you.
How much torque do I need for a secondary clutch?
Torque it to 40 ft-lbs, then set the torque wrench to 55 ft-lbs and you probably won’t see that much “turn of the bolt”. Getting it somewhere in there is fine. You don’t want it loose so that vibration can loosen the bolt. And you don’t want it so tight you begin to pull the threads on either the bolt, the Trans shaft, or both.
Can a Loctite be used on a Polaris clutch?
And you don’t want it so tight you begin to pull the threads on either the bolt, the Trans shaft, or both. Polaris does not recommend using a Loctite on the threads, and that’s probably a good thing. You want the torque of the fastener to create just enough pull on the threads to keep the fastener tight.

Do you put Loctite on Polaris clutch bolts?
In 14 years of doing clutching I never torqued those 6 bolts and never put loctite on them, they don’t have loctite from Polaris either. For that matter I have never torqued the main bolts holding the clutches on either, use a 18v milwaukee and know when to quit.
