Just had the same problem on a Ski Doo 550F. We couldn’t figure it out to save our lives. Cleaned carbs 2x, replaced plugs, wires, fuel lines. Nothing worked. Then watched a carb cleaning video on youtube (no kidding) that showed how to pull the floats and the needles. Yes, the one float needle was getting hung up.

Got my step dads 2017 expy sport started after being fogged for the summer, was a little hard to get going but feeding fuel directly through the carb and then let her warm up and she started feeding herself. After letting her warm up she started to backfire a bunch when applying throttle and letting off the throttle… especially around 2000 rpm.

Are there any problems with the doo 550?
Supposedly the pistons in them dont get enough oil from the oil injector and blows them up just like the 03-04 artic cat 440. Haven’t heard about any problems with Doo’s 550’s. Never seen/heard of one blown up either. Their pretty reliable engines from what I’ve seen.
