Is there a problem with my Polaris 94 EFI?

I have about 3800 on my 94 EFI and no problems. Did it sit for a long time? The fuel lines may be shot. It must be running good on the start and than kicking up whatever is in the fuel system. how much injector cleaner did you use? how much gas line antifreeze?

Is the Polaris Indy 500 boggy at the low end?

We have a Polaris Indy 500 EFI, it is very boggy at the low end.  If you juice the throttle hard from 2000 rpm it will bog and stick at about 3800 RPM and continue to flood / bogg.  If you back off the throttle, to about 2000 again and bring back up to 4000 it will eventually clear then the clutch will kick in and you’ll be on your way.

P.S> Clutch ( Blue spring ) was rebuit less then 200 miles on it and she is running a new belt. She sits in a shop under a tarp during off-season. Wifes 1986 Indy Trail with 6500 miles is still running strong…………. It would seem that it is a fuel problem – maybe something in the tank? I have about 3800 on my 94 EFI and no problems.

Worn belts , wrong offset, incorrect center distance, broken motor mounts as well as binding or worn driven clutch parts will cause performance issues. The early efi systems have been known to be problematic however. My primary sled is an Indy 500 EFI and I love it. Keep the battery charged, keep the EFI electrical connectors clean and greased, run a can of seafoam at least one a year and for the most part they are problem free.
