Is the front end of a 2014 Mazda CX5 clunking?
I have a 2014 CX5 Touring FWD with an on-again off-again front end clunk. By this, I mean that it doesn’t always present itself under the same circumstances.
What’s the problem with Mazda’s suspension clunk?
A huge thanks to Mazda Tech Arnel! It’s not bumpstops as others have doubted nor worn endlinks, but DRY STRUT MOUNT BEARINGS! Removed both front struts. Bumpstops are supposed to move freely: Buttoned everything up. Tested, drove………. Interesting…
What can I do to fix my suspension clunk?
The slightest of variations can make a difference. Take the extra step to wrap the springs w/ thin insulator sleeves of silicone or rubber where they get in contact w/ strutmounts, while you’re greasing those bearings.
