Can you fit gravel tyres on a road bike?
Gravel bikes are regularly specced with 40mm and wider tyres but you’ll be lucky to get anything like that on a road bike. If space is really limited on your bike another option is a cyclocross tyre as these are typically 32-33mm wide and will fit in a wide majority of road bikes.

Can you put thicker tires on a road bike?
Remember that larger tires are both wider and stick out more from the wheel. On a road bike, odds are high that you can put a slightly larger (say, go from 25mm to 30mm) tire but not a hugely larger tire. If you want to make a big jump you probably also want to get wheels with a wider rim.

How much does a Mason definition weight?
At 8.5kg, the Definition is some 800g lighter than the steel Resolution which we tested a couple of years back. So it’s that much quicker off the mark and when climbing, although it shares the same geometry. But the alloy frame gives a more lively ride, rather than the Resolution’s more relaxed feel.
