How to customize the look of a vacuum tube?
Just like the reality TV shows where skilled craftsman make motorcycles or hot rods you too can customize the look of your tube amplifier. Place the tubes on the top of the chassis so you can watch them glow. Co-locate the output, power, and chokes on top as well.
Is it worth building your own vacuum tube?
But with this high cost comes good economic justification for building your own gear. This is one of the last frontiers of do-it-yourself that is actually worth doing. Vacuum tubes work by thermionic emission, meaning that electrons are emitted by something really hot under vacuum.
How are the output and output of a vacuum tube powered?
The two outputs drive the output power tubes at 0 and 180 deg phase respectively. The output tubes push and pull on the output transformer. Tubes can only pull, so the output transformer is powered from a center tap on its primary winding. Finally, the output is fed both to a loudspeaker and through a feedback network to the first stage.
How does a vacuum tube power a loudspeaker?

What kind of vacuum switch does a Ford’78 use?
I drew up a diagram based on everything I had on hand. It uses a blue ported vacuum switch (fully switched at 95°F). It doesn’t have the vacuum circuit for overheating. I learned that requires a red ported vacuum switch (open at 235°F) with three ports to switch between ported vacuum and manifold vacuum. My engine doesn’t have one.
What does the label on a vacuum connection mean?
The white one has a label of “DIST”, which likely means it was part of the advance circuit. The blue one has a label of “A/CLR”, which I take to mean that it was part of the air cleaner intake diverter to bring in hot air from along the manifold.
What should I do if my Hoover Nozzle is not working?
Take a broom handle clean it through with a stick to knock out anything that may be stuck. Then remove the hood from the nozzle and check the lower hose. If didn’t work it properly their is could be a clogged filter to check this remove your dirt cup and lift the filter.
How many ports does a Ford 351M vacuum need?
I found something that says EGR Port vaccum from the carb needs to be run to a ported vacuum switch. When cold, it runs vacuum to the advance. Once it warms up enough, it switches over to the EGR. But, I went and double checked… This system sounds like it needs a three-port VPS, and both on my 351M are two-port.
