How to check spark on snowmobile?
SNOWMOBILE TECH TIP: Diagnose weak spark or lack of spark
- Make sure the engine has the correct spark plugs and they’re gapped correctly.
- Check connection of the spark plug cap to the spark plug wire.
- Disconnect the main electrical connector coming out of the engine, and then check for spark again.
How old is a 2006 Ski Doo 600 SDI?
You know being a “guy” and I i am not too bright 2006 Ski Doo 600 SDI, found the battery dead, which is no surprise since it is 3 years old. Got the new battery, put in some new gas after emptying out the tank, gave it a pull, and would you know it started!! Ws aletting it clear out the fogging oil, lots of smoke and it stalled.
Is there a problem with my Ski Doo sled?
I own a used 2005 MXZ RENEGADE 600 HO SDI. I have been having difficulty in the past few weeks with trying to start my sled. When I would try to pull over the machine, it would run for about 5 seconds tops and then shut off. Numerous times i tried this and no success.
What should I do if my Ski Doo won’t start?
OK, so I checked the manual, the black/orange wire is your ground. Check continuity with your meter to ground (disconnect it from the solenoid), if nothing you could test it by running a temporary wire back to your battery ground and try and start the sled. If it starts you know your ground on that wire is most definitely not grounded.
When to push RER on Ski Doo SDI?
Do you pull once to “charge” everything and then push the RER, or just push the RER to prime the pump. The first time you start your sled for the day….or it has been sitting awhile you push the RER button and you will here it come on and the fuel pump prime….after that you should not have to push it for that day unless it sits for a long time.

What was the problem with starting Ski Doo?
They put the sled on the computer and it showed up that the TPS valve was off 2 to 3 degrees. They adjusted it and all was good for that week. So my cousin and I checked it out and replaced the spark plugs.

Why is my Ski Doo running on 2 cylinders?
The sled was running from 1 to 2 cylinders after this was done. After taking it ride, it was good after. I posted a message on another snowmobile forum about this problem and one person said that if my spark plugs were black and sooty, it maybe the spark plug caps since they said that is a common problem with the 600 sdi’s.
