Why is the fault light still on on my VGRS?

The dealer ran a diagnostic which identified the ECU, after fitting a new one they could not calibrate the steering wheel. They then said it was also the spiral steering harness and fitted a new one (so far £1000) they now tell me the fault light is still on and it is also the steering actuator (£2600 more for the part plus fitting).

What does the VGRS fault code c1289 mean?

There is a VGRS Fault code C1289. Does anyone know what this means and how to fix it? Has it rained recently? A leaking sunroof seal or clogged sunroof drains can cause water to seep into the cabin under the headliner and down the a-pillars and cause some funky symptoms including the VGRS light trifecta.
