How often should I change the oil in my Mobil 1?
I do take it a few miles a couple times a week to exercise the engine. It has 15,000 miles on it now. According to my manual I should change the oil every 7,000 miles and it has an indicator light when it’s time to change the oil. If I was to use mobil 1 full synthetic I could in theory wait until it has over 15,000 miles.
How long can you avoid changing full synthetic oil?
When you don’t evaporate all of that water condensation, it turns acidic over time, and leads to deposits of damaging sludge in the engine. All of that being said, I would recommend that you not go longer than one year before you change the oil.
When to change oil on a long trip?
• When it comes to motor oil, another advantage of long trips at highway speed is the fact that the engine stays heated up at normal operating temperature for hours at a time. Cold startups are one of the toughest things you can do to an engine, as oil has to make its way to all moving parts in the first few seconds.
How often should you change your Dino oil?
OP should have the oil changed at least once per year. Just pretend its dino oil and change accordingly. You should not extend oil changes just because it is synthetic. It was a common marketing theme to get people to buy. I change mine at 5000 miles with 0-20 Mobil 1.
Is there a limit to the number of miles you can run an oil change?
As mentioned in the answers in the linked question, the various additives in the oil break down over time, so the limit isn’t just the number of miles done. Quite often your service interval will be listed as “X miles or Y time, whichever is the soonest” for this exact reason.

How often should you change synthetic oil in your car?
Most important is to use a synthetic with the same SAE viscosity (named for the engineering organization SAE International) that the factory filled your car with in the first place, and to follow the correct oil-change interval. Doing that will help your car run properly and your engine last longer. This content is imported from {embed-name}.
Is it worth it to change the oil in your car?
Sure you can. In fact, you can even go over 10,000 miles with synthetic oil. Is full synthetic oil worth it? Synthetic oil definitely can be worth it. Though synthetic oil is much more expensive than regular oil, it has more benefits. It outperforms regular oil, is better for the environment and allows your car to go longer between oil changes.
Based on the results we’ve got here, we’d recommend 8,000 miles between oil changes on an engine that uses no oil at all, perhaps 10,000 miles on an engine that uses some oil, and 15,000 miles or beyond with a filter change every 5,000 miles. This, of course, isn’t any kind of guarantee, and you must evaluate for yourself what your engine requires.
Is the Mobil 1 oil analysis a pass or fail?
Here are a few points to ponder, based on our experience with the Mobil 1 phase. Getting just one oil analysis only tells a tiny piece of the picture. It essentially would serve only as a pass/fail mechanism; without a trend to monitor, the most interesting parts of the analysis would be impossible to see. Total base number is a moving target.

Mile 3000 — Charlie Nowlin, December 31, 2002. For the first time, we had to top off the oil. The oil is still holding up quite well, with the TBN far higher at 3,000 miles than standard oils even start out with. The lab is concerned with the copper levels and is recommending that we change the oil.
