A majority of all establishments selling/serving alcohol in New York require their employees to be TIPS Certified. The NYSLA has approved TIPS® On-Premise, Off-Premise, and Gaming ATAP Training. The program is self-paced, 100% online, approximately 3 hours in length and Certification is valid for 3 years.

How long does a TIPS certification last?

TIPS Cards are valid for 3 years. In order to maintain certification participants must retake the course in its entirety and pay the $40 course fee on or before expiration. TIPS Replacement Cards can be purchased for $16. Purchasing a replacement card will not extend the expiration date of your certification.
