How do you clean the engine on a Toyota Tundra?
If your engine hasnt seen any real “dirt” or mud, then a simple All Purpose Cleaner diluted to 4:1 (this IMO “IS” needed) is all you should need. Spray it off, agitate dirty areas, rinse. Run engine to dry, compressed air to dry. Then dress with your favorite water based protectant (no silicone anywhere).

When did Toyota put 5.7 engine in tundra?
I have only enjoyed my 2015 Tundra CM 1794 for about a year now, but they put 5.7 in tundras around 2007 and it is 2019 and the same engine is still being used only a few small changes that tells me it is a great engine. So I don’t think you will have any problems as long as you keep it maintained. BarcelonaSX likes this.

I’ve got a 2008 5.7 with about 135k miles and am leaking lots of oil right from the crappy RTV layer. As you all know this isn’t a cheap fix and would like to postpone the repair for now. Can a cam tower leak cause a 5.7 tundra to fail?
The 5.7 can develop cam tower leaks. Several here have the issue.
