Assessment tips
- Make sure you keep an eye on the clock, the time passes by faster than when doing mock tests.
- Try to mark for review ONLY questions that you really want to revisit.
- Be rested and fresh.
- Rely on your own knowledge.
- Read the questions out loud or as slow as possible.
- Read all the answers.
How do I prepare for PSM certification?
What I did was:
- Read the Scrum Guide.
- Listened to the Scrum Guide Audio.
- Made notes on the key parts of the Scrum Guide for review.
- Tested my knowledge using Scrum.org’s Scrum Open Assessment.
- Tested my knowledge using my own PSM I Review Test.
How much does PSM certification cost?
The cost of PSM I is $150 USD. Assessment passwords are valid for one attempt, do not expire and remain valid until used. See below for more details.
How long does it take to prepare for PSM?
If you opt out of taking an official training class, you would probably need 20+ hours of study and practice, unless you’re already well versed in the Scrum framework; then it would be less.
Can I take PSM exam without training?
Exam Level PSM-I do not require any training if you have a complete knowledge of implementing Scrum. And, PSM-II and PSM-III exams are much harder as compared to PSM-I and need experience of few years in Scrum Methodology to pass these certifications.
Is PSM open book?
80 questions in 60 minutes means you get just 45 seconds per question. Pass rate is 85%, which means you can’t get any more than 12 questions wrong. The open book nature of this exam, may make it sound easy.
Do you need a PSM I for scrum?
The Professional Scrum Master TM level I (PSM I) assessment is available to anyone who wishes to validate his or her depth of knowledge of the Scrum framework and its application. Those who pass the assessment will receive the industry recognized PSM I Certification to demonstrate their fundamental level of Scrum mastery.
How to prepare and pass the Professional Scrum Master exam?
There are two well recognized Scrum Master exams. A certification organized by Scrum Alliance. In order to get this certification, you first need to take a two day Scrum alliance training and pass the exam with at least an 80%.
