Do you need a tow bar for a Mazda Miata?
There are tow bar kits that come with a little hand winch that will raise it to hook to trailer ball and stow nicely in RV. You will need a light bar, not too terribly expensive and you don’t have to worry about locking the steering wheel, but regardless, even though the drive wheels are off the ground, tow in neutral.

As a MX-5 Miata owner, I can tell you that you should definitely NOT even consider towing it with a 2 wheel dolly (If you care anything about the car, that is). Think about how low this car is to the ground to begin with…NOW factor in that you want to attempt towing it with the front end at an angle toward the ground.

There are companies which make add-ons to allow you to tow just about everything (Remco is the one that comes to mind). They make electric lube pumps which you can add to automatics and they make drive line and front wheel disconnects. I guess this was a little more than two cents worth!
