Paignton Zoo is part of Wild Planet Trust. The Trust was established in 2019; however, our work as a registered education, scientific and conservation charity goes back to 1957, with the formation of the Herbert Whitley Trust (later to become the Whitley Wildlife Conservation Trust).

Cafes and toilets The main restaurant at Paignton Zoo is not far from the entrance. You can also eat your own picnic at benches located around the zoo. You cannot take food into some areas like the Lemur Wood where animals roam freely as you walk through.

Can I take my dog to Paignton Zoo?
We regret that guest’s dogs or pets are not permitted in the zoo, except for registered assistance dogs. Here at the zoo we welcome assistance dogs and want to make your visit to us as enjoyable as possible. Bicycles, scooters and skateboards are not allowed within the zoo.
