To be able to age an infant (baby) into a toddler you need to complete the Quest for Toddlers. If you have completed the Life Dreams and Legacies Quest then you no longer need to bake birthday cakes, they will age automatically.
Can unmarried Sims have babies Freeplay?
You need to complete the A Bump-y Ride Discovery Quest to unlock pregnancy, build the Maternity Store to start this quest. Only adult female sims can become pregnant but they don’t have to be married!

To make a baby, buy a crib in the infant section of the home store or Children’s Store. You can add a baby for 3 LP, and it will take 24 hours to arrive. If you finished the Life Dreams and Legacies quest, a baby will require Simoleons instead.

Children do not grow up into adults, although the Makin’ Magic expansion allows magical children to grow up by using the Age of Instant charm, however their head will be completely randomized and may not look like they did when they were a child.

A – Yes you can! The only condition is that your town and house has enough space for a new Sim! Pregnancy Events are designed to be slightly different each time as no two pregnancies are ever the same!
