Why does my Def fluid not update after refill?
After a refill it may be necessary to drive the vehicle for a few miles before the DEF fluid information will update on the DIC. If the vehicle has been driven for a few miles, the ignition has been turned off (allowing the ECM to go to sleep for at least 5 minutes), and the DIC will not update, the message may have become latched into the ECM.
What happens if DEF tank does not clear?
After a normal DEF tank fill, the DEF fluid level reading (on Tech 2) should have increased to 100%. If fluid was added and the level does not change, the DEF fluid may be frozen. The fluid will have to be thawed before completing the process in this PI. A reading of 100% does not indicate that the entire tank is thawed.

There is a function using the IDS that is called the “SCR Refill Activation”. You basically fill the DEF tank 100%, do this procedure, and it tells the PCM the tank is full and notes the reductant tank sending unit voltage. How the heck did you get 7000 miles on a 2017 truck already?

If after refill the low AdBlue warning does not come off is 1/2/3 drive cycles – then from ML totally off turn the ignition to position 1 (on, but not cranking) for over 30 secs – then turn ignition off – if Keyless Go pull the button and use the key.

What to do when you add Def fluid?
Filled mine up yesterday and drove over 100 miles today and it’s still going down. Seems to me like sometimes it takes a few of start cycles/short trips. Make sure you shut it off when you add def. I be had a 13,15,and now16 and never had problem until 16 I started filling def while idiling.
