Can you do a balloon arch the day before without helium?
Helium filled latex balloons only float well for about 10 to 12 hours. If you want to do your helium-filled arch the night before the event, I highly recommend you treat your balloons with hi-float. If you are planning to do an air-filled arch, then it’s fine to create the arch the day before.
What can I use to hold up a balloon arch?
Put command hooks (or nails) on the wall where you want your balloon garland to hang. Attach your balloon garland to the wall by putting one of the holes of the ballon strip through the hook of your command strip. Once it’s up, use balloon glue dots to attach leftover balloons into spaces with holes.
Can you make a balloon arch with string?
As explained on our balloon arch page, we suggest to use 0.5 mm Nylon line (also known as fishing line or monofilament) for this type of balloon arch.
Do balloons need helium for a balloon arch?
Arches usually use helium-filled balloons, with the floating balloons forming the arch. Helium is expensive, especially if you are constructing a large arch. Instead, use regular air-filled balloons.
Do balloon arches need helium?
Best of all – no helium required! Simply string the balloons together and hang or knot together and tie to wall depending on your desired look. Most balloon arches take between 80-100 balloons depending on how many colors you want to use throughout and how big you fill each of the balloons.
How long will a balloon last without helium?
5-7 days. Air-filled balloons generally last for a couple of weeks, but will not float. What is Hi-Float? Hi-Float is a liquid protective coating that is inserted into the balloon and spread around to prevent helium from escaping as quickly.
How do you tie a balloon arch?
Instructions:
- Blow up and tie your balloons.
- Cut your fishing line.
- Start stringing your balloons onto your fishing line using your plastic needle.
- With your fishing line now full of balloons you can start to hang it up.
- Screw your screw hooks into the wall to hold up your balloon arch.
