Can a normal printer print on Tyvek?
Uncoated Tyvek® can be printed using most digital and commercial printing processes. Some digital presses and some aqueous ink jet printers require a special coating. Tyvek® can be printed either sheet or web-fed. Most traditional printing technologies can be used for Tyvek® printing, as well as some digital printing.
Can you inkjet print on Tyvek?
Select a Tyvek paper that has an appropriate ink receptive coating for the printer. Regular printing, such as that done with an ink jet printer, is possible on Tyvek paper, but the paper must have ink jet coating so that the paper will take the ink.
Is Tyvek archival?
It’s archive safe – Firstly, Tyvek is inert and pH neutral. It’s made from 100% HDPE non-woven olefin fibre and contains no binders, fillers or plasticisers. So, it’s safe to use in most archival applications where it may be in direct contact with the object (if in doubt please contact a trained conservator).
