Why is the side airbag always off in a Mercedes?
The front pass and the side airbag are off. One guy said it should be off and if it detects the weight of a child then it illuminates to warn you not to seat your child there….really. You need a light to tell you that?

Is there a way to disable the passenger seat airbag?
If your car is not equipped with passenger seat sensor you can safely take your grand daughter for a ride by sliding the seat all the way back, and after fastening her seat belt, slide the seat belt switch to lock position (it’s locked when you see the happy child icon). By doing this prep, the airbag won’t hit the small passenger if it deploys.
