Why is the DPF warning light flashing on my Mazda CX7?
I too own a CX7 and the DPF warning light is flashing. i’ve had it inspected by my local mazda dealer and we have been told the timing chain is stretched and out of tolerance. This needs to be replaced at a cost of £500 but are assured this will solve the problem.

Exactly, and it’s not like we needed any more reasons to avoid diesels. Have bought a CX-7 about a year ago and have a SCR malfunction warning that comes up every time the vehicle is started. There doesn’t seem to be a leak in the urea tank but the vehicle eventually goes into limp mode until it’s reset.
What causes a SCR fault on a Mazda CX7?
Those tanks have a pump, heater, temp sensor and level sensor and any of those can trigger an SCR fault along with a faulty injector, a fault code scan is the first step in diagnosing what is causing your particular problem. I have not allowed the Adblue to empty completely. I will top it up monthly, app. 1litre Adblue for app. 5000 Klms.
What’s the clearance on a Mazda CX 7?
It’s off-road that the CX-7 shows that it is a true SUV rather than a 4WD with the low road clearance of 170mm (the Sorento gives 184mm, the Tiguan 195mm, and the Grand Vitara and Captiva are both 200mm) requiring extra care to avoid grounding the car on rocks and in the muddy ruts left behind by bigger trucks.

How to stop the DPF Regen process in Mazda CX7?
To stop the DPF Regen process press the clutch down or simply remove the wire bridge from 2 pin plug. Let it run for 3 min before turning off. IMPORTANT: Must be done outdoors.
