Why is my rear wheel jammed after sitting for 7 days?
The vehicle was picked and dropped back by the M.A.S.S people, and we had left it idle for 7 days or so. When I tried to take it out, it would move only with some effort; got out and saw that the bricks (bricks are laid on the ground where it is parked) were out of alignment.
Why is the rear wheel of my car not moving?
I saw that the rear right wheel was jammed because of which it was being dragged, it was not rotating. I jacked up the car and removed the wheel, and found that the wheel drum was completely locked/jammed, it was not moving. Below is a picture for reference. I tried to exert some force with the spanner but it refused to budge.
What happens when your back seizes up ( it’locks’)?
in some severe cases it may need surgical intervention. main point locking up is automatic and involuntary. When the back “seizes up” to the point that you could barely move it is secondarily caused my severe muscle spasms to prevent you from doing anything else to aggravate your injury.
Why did my rear wheel get stuck after hitting a drum?
He explained that since I had sprayed water over the wheels, the “plates” got stuck after the water dried and after hitting the drum a couple of times, it will become free. I was told to strike here… I asked him is it safe to do so, he said completely safe and to callback on his number after I have tried it.
What causes the back wheel to lock up?
The likely cause is a failed wheel bearing unless something exceptional has caused the brake caliper to lock the brake rotor. By far, the most common cause of what you are describing is simply bearing failure though.

What happens when the caliper slide pins seize?
If it is the caliper slide pins that have seized, the car may appear to drive normally, but the pads will only be pushed onto the disc from the piston side. This will give reduced braking ability on one wheel, and wear the pad on the piston side much faster. In cases like these, the car may pull to the opposite side when the brakes are applied.
Why are the back wheels of my brother’s car jammed?
Something similar happened to my brother’s car once, though it was both of the back wheels which seized up. Turns out the breaks had rusted and being unused for a weekend after driving through floods caused the break pads to stick to the thing they grip on to. Called a mechanic and he sorted it out (somehow, I don’t know what happened next). Rep: ?
What makes a grinding sound when turning the wheel to the left?
Grinding sound when reversing and turning the wheel to the left? When I reverse the car and put the wheel into near full left-lock or full left-lock there is a grinding sound coming from the passenger’s front side that sounds sort of like the wheel is rubbing on the bumper, but this only happens when the car is in reverse.
What to do when one wheel is totally jammed / locked?
Take off the wheel and use a rubber mallet to free the drum/calliper, and use WD40 on the cable where necessary to break down anything else that might be causing it to seize up. Just read this, Yeah did exactly that. The cable was fine. Rep: ?
How is the parking brake binding on a car?
Parking Brake Binding All cars run the parking brake to just the rear wheels and as you know, some vehicles have calipers at the rear and others will have drum brakes. The parking brake on most cars are still operated by pulling a lever which pulls a cable which applies the rear brakes.
How can you tell if a wheel is binding?
The first inspection is a visual of the wheels. Very often the wheel that’s binding will have a lot of extra brake dust on the wheel rim. After driving, place your hand on each wheel rim, a wheel that’s binding will be noticeably hotter than the rest.
What causes the rear brake cable to bind?
The park brake cables often corrode internally, which can cause them to partially stick in the on position. The fix here is to replace the cables. A park brake cable that’s been adjusted too tightly, will cause the rear brakes to bind. This usually only happens when the brakes warm up.
Why do my brakes squeal in both forward and reverse?
If your vehicle is not new or does not have many miles on the brakes, then the first thing you should check is your wear tabs. If your brakes squeal in both forward and reverse, these may be the source of the problem.
