Why is my dipstick covered in oil?

I have a 1993 Camry LE with 143,000 miles. About 30,000 miles ago the oil light starting coming on. still coming on. I can change the oil filter and the problem will go away for about 1,000 miles. again for about another 1,000 miles. Even using a extends the 1,000 mile to maybe 1,500 miles. Has anybody else had this problem? I have had one

When does low oil pressure light come on?
After about 20 mins of the low oil pressure light comes on any time engine rpms is above 1500. The motor had 155k miles, runs fine. What i did was that i checked the oil pressure and found out a problem. The sending oil unit got bad and hence i replaced it.
