Why does my new laptop battery not work?
Hi, so I bought a new laptop battery because the one in the laptop didn’t work. When I put it in the laptop nothing happened, however after a couple of minutes it started to charge so, I put it to sleep and when the battery light turned green. I unplugged it and it wouldn’t turn on.

Sounds like a possible transfer switch or fuse issue. With the 12 volt lights working when on shore power means the charger is working. Look for a large fuse between the batteries and the charger 12 volt output feed to the positive coach battery terminal (s). With a meter you should read a voltage at the positive terminals.

What should I do if my light disconnects from the battery?
Take out any dirt or bugs that are settled on the contacts that might disconnect the battery. If the light is old, you can sandpaper the contacts a little to remove the stubborn rust and chemical deposit. The easiest problem to fix. Clean the battery contacts and replace the battery in its casing.
