An anti-rattle clip secures the pad to stop it from vibrating while braking. If clips are worn out, the pad vibration will result in a squeak. When that happens, have the clips replaced and the squeal and rattle will be history.
What kind of sound does your car make when you brake?
Most of the time when I brake at low speeds I hear a clicking type sound, that is fairly faint. I do NOT hear squeaking, grinding or any high pitched noises that might indicate my brake pads are wearing down, or anything that sounds really bad.
What can I do about the clicking noise on my disk brake?
You can minimize and often eliminate this clicking noise by applying a disk brake caliper grease. Pick up some disk brake caliper lube on Amazon. Apply only to the sliding parts of caliper and NOT to the pad friction material. The grease should lubricate the caliper slides and help eliminate the noise.
Why does my car make a squealing and screeching noise?
Squealing and squeaking noises are trying to tell you there is a problem. An engine squeal, screeching or squeaking noise is usually one of the few things that can be wrong. What does it mean when your Lexus suspension is clunking?
A clunky suspension is a sign something is loose or worn out in the Lexus, but it can be hard to trace the problem because there are so many possible sources. In addition to there being several sources, the noise may not be consistent. You may only notice it on days that are cold or rainy, or when hitting bumps at certain angles.
What kind of grease to use on Lexus suspension?
If it’s a standard bushing you’ll want to use WD-40 or something similar. If it has a grease boot this is where the grease gun will come into play. If it has a Zerk fitting; put the grease in using that, otherwise you’ll need to use the needle to insert the grease in. Take care not to overfill; you only want to fill until the boot feels firm.
