Why does my Jeep Patriot make a creaking noise when turning?
I can’t say for sure if that’s your issue or not, but having loose sway bar links is probably the worst suspension noise I’ve heard going over bumps, which sounds like what you’re saying I used to get creaking sounds from the front when turning slowly at low speeds. Putting some lube on the top of the struts made it go away.
Why is the front wheel of my Jeep creaking?
Ive been hearing a creaking noise coming from the front passenger wheel area whenever extra weight is put on it (turning left, uneven road surfaces where it is the only wheel that goes over the bump, etc). Then I’ve been hearing a popping noise coming from the driver front wheel when making right turns and going over a bump at the same time.

It was definitely a grinding noise that was speed dependent, definitely coming from the brakes. I got back from the service department this morning (Flemington Jeep in NJ has a great service department FWIW), and the mechanic showed me two areas on the left front rotor that were scraped.

Is the Jeep Patriot north front wheel drive?
Jeep Patriot North 2.4L, 4×2, 5 spd manual transmission . . I have a 2008 Patriot North Edit 5 spd manual. 218000km (136K miles.) 2.4L. Front Wheel Drive. On the highway it’s smooth, quiet, on badly potted paved roads or under construction highways with uneven patchwork one can really feel the road.
