Why does my Jeep Patriot make a creaking noise when turning?

I can’t say for sure if that’s your issue or not, but having loose sway bar links is probably the worst suspension noise I’ve heard going over bumps, which sounds like what you’re saying I used to get creaking sounds from the front when turning slowly at low speeds.
