Why does my GMC Truck make a clunking noise?
Ok my truck is at the dealer for the same clunk I have had for 2 years and they can’t find anything wrong. I thought it was the intermediate shaft since all the parts that it could be from wear have been replaced and are all ok They can’t find anything wrong but they hear the noise too?
Why does my GMC Sierra clunk over bumps?
It feels like my suspension is stiff too. ALSO, when I am going over somewhat smooth, slow, continuous bumps such as a brick driveway where my suspension isn’t having to work too hard, I can hear a creaking noise like an old ship out at sea coming from underneath. I have a 2006 GMC sierra extended cab that I recently put a full rc leveling kit on.

Why does my Silverado make a loud popping noise?
I have the same bed popping noise problem – whenever I go over a bump in the road (or a parking lot speed bump – not fast) the bed bangs loudly like it’s loose. Vehicle is a 2010 Silverado 1500, crew cab, short bed, 4×4, 6.2L, LTZ.

How can you recognize suspension squeaks while driving over bumps?
How Can You Recognize Suspension Squeaks? If you drive on a bumpy road, or even if you happen to go over a speed bump, your car might make a quick creaking noise when it goes over the uneven section . There are also massive forum threads covering the issue with the pickup trucks. Watkins’ 2016 GMC Yukon XL Denali has had the driveshaft balanced and the tires and wheels switched out two different times, and yet the problems persist, especially the buffeting.

What causes a Silverado front end to clunk?
Turns out that the bushing at the end of the cross-member where the rear of the torsion bar mounts is loose (see photos). The torsion bar is firm in the cross-member, but there is alot of movement and knocking in the connection where the cross-member attaches to the frame. The cross-member moves up and down when I lift the vehicle from belos.
How big is the front engine on a GMC Sierra?
That part is known as the “front engine crossmember”, and in my service manual for the ’04 Sierra [15/25/3500], it says they are torqued to 120Nm/88 ft-lbs for both 2wd and 4wd. I know this because I stupidly bent it trying to use it to jack up the front of my vehicle.
How many turn out of driver’s side of GMC Truck?
Tightened the 18mm Xmember bolts, got 3/4 turn out of the driver’s side and about a 1/2 turn on the passenger side. Holy shit I’ve had this exact problem for 2 years.
