Why does my engine Ping when under load?

Why does my engine Ping when under load?

I would think that on an engine with this small of a cam, this low of compression, and running 92 octane that it would take a LOT of advance before it would start pinging. Am I wrong and simply running too much timing for this engine combo, or is there something else that could be causing the pinging under load?

What can be done to stop engine pinging?

High-octane gas is designed to prevent preignition of the air/fuel mixture. Using a higher-octane gas than normal can reduce pinging. Carbon buildup on the cylinder wall can also cause improper ignition and pinging. All U.S. gasoline contains detergents.

Is the vacuum advance still pinging under load?

Plugging the vacuum advance back in gives me 29 degrees of timing at idle and 45 degrees of timing at 3000+ RPM. These numbers don’t seem overly high to me, but I’m still getting pinging under load (not WOT), though not as bad as the day I brought it home.

What’s the normal speed of a pinging engine?

In the normal combustion, process the flame front moves at a speed of 10-20m/swith a maximum pressure of 30-40 bars. In the case of a pinging engine, the combustion speed is too high. After the spark plug ignited the mixture the pressure front moves up to 12 times faster then normal.

Why are there 6 pings that remote has not responded?

The thing is that my old connection is still active and I’m planning to get rid of it soon, Among Us works perfectly fine on the old and slower connection, I always have this message pop up: You were disconnected from this server, sent 6 pings that the remote has not responded to.

How long does it take a ping to travel around the world?

Considering that Ping goes to a destination and then back again, the packet sent by Ping would travel 40,000 km, the equivalent of a trip around Earth. That is 133 milliseconds. Anyone who has tried to ping various servers across the world will know that this is a way better response time than what you can realistically get.

When does the Ping on Ventrilo go up?

Ping on ventrilo will spike from 39 up to 300. The router was purchased in July of 2012 so is not even 1 year old yet. I have unplugged both the router, and modem for 30 seconds and reset them both.

Is it normal to get random pings on Yahoo?

Pingtest 2 minutes after the above test show back to normal. All 3 tests were done right after each other, yahoo.com gives the most random pings, and they’re all high ones at that. I would expect this kind of problem on a wireless connection, but on a wired one? What else can I do here?

Which is the best test for Ping speed?

ISPgeeks, also, has some good quality/capacity tests (as well as speed/ping tests) and they have some good info, too. At this point I would also go with tracert. As you’ve used yahoo.com in the past, use that again. tracert yahoo.com. BTW, the actual term is latency. Ping is a tool you use to measure it.

Why does my ISP Ping spike when I download?

When the download started, my ISP ping spiked obviously, and the APB ping spiked as well, since the bandwidth is being sucked up by the download, the router and modem both stayed at 1ms. I’m hoping to catch a screenshot of when APB ping spikes to see if the ISP ping spikes also.

What to do if your Harley Davidson pings?

If you have increased air flow with a high flow air cleaner, an after market exhaust, or even with only slip on mufflers, you will need to introduce more fuel. I would recommend installing a Power Commander. This will enable you to address the pinging issue and optimize your m/c’s performance.

Why does retarding ignition timing reduce pinging?

Normally, when the spark plug fires the flame spreads from the spark plug out to the farthest reaches of the combustion chamber. The fuel-air mixture is swirling around, which helps speed up the spread of the flame.

Why do I hear a pinging sound in my engine?

Consequently, you may hear a pinging or rattling sound when accelerating; driving up a hill, or when engine is lugging. By tapping on the engine near the sensor is one way to test it. Next watch spark timing and/or knock sensor input on a scan tool. You need to see if it sends a timing retard signal.

Why does my car make a pinging noise?

If you want to read more look at the differences between pre-ignition and detonation, both conditions will cause a “pinging” noise but are not the same thing. Detonation is the event caused by excessively advanced ignition timing, or the use of fuel with too low an octane rating.

Why do I need 4 barrel ignition timing?

Having the timing all in later lets you ‘lug’ the motor up a hill at 2500 rpm without full advance. An adjustable vacuum advance unit let’s you tune away any additional part throttle problems. That motor would like a 4 barrel. 10,000 threads on ignition timing in this section alone.
