Why does my car alarm sound when the door is unlocked?
The door unlocked, but the alarm sounded and I had to lock and unlock with the remote to stop the alarm. (I had locked the door originally with the remote.) At home I went through the process a couple more times and found that if I unlock and open the door with the key the alarm will sound. This doesn’t seem right to me.

If you unlock and open the door you will get five short warning beeps from the horn……this is enough time to get in and turn the key on. Once you turn the key on, the alarm is disabled and will not sound. Since you know the drill now, just be prepared to get in and turn the key on as quickly as possible.
