Why did my Yamaha RX1 have engine trouble?
The only engine trouble he had was when he threw a stud into the cooler of the rx-1 and had to run it out to a road with no coolant – burned up the engine but that was his own fault! He is really good about maintenance and made sure to put them away correctly…

How many miles does a 03 Yamaha RX1 have?
The ’03 Yamaha RX-1 has 3600 miles on it. It had last been used last winter a few times. It had new plugs put in last year not sure what kind. I was a few miles into an easy ride on the lake at about 30 mph and I could not get it going any faster, it was kind of bogging down and felt like it was being limited, no power.

I have an 03 RX-1 that is having the same problem with two of the four carbs. Two cylinders are running fine, however, on the two cylinders that are not firing, fuel is coming out of the overflow line.I have disassembled the carbs and checked the jets for plugs and they are clear.
Can a stock RX1 sled run high octane?
Octane booster will make your sled run like shit. stock Rx1/Apex/Attak etc will run dirty and boggy on premium. Unless the sled it turbo charged or modded to run high octane fuel, just run clean regular unleaded. Never gas the throttle when you cold start the sled on choke and the “low coolant indicator light” is flashing.
What kind of oil do I use for my RX1 snowmobile?
Synthetic lubes are a great addition to the RX1, the start better for sure. I use Amsoil, but Mobil 1 is also a great product also. Synthetic is great, but if you have any kind of an oil consumption problem it will make things worse.
