Where to go if your car makes clunking noise?

Especially if you have paid a lot of money for your car in the first place, like a BMW for example. This BMW service in Dallas may be the perfect place for you to take your car if you live in that area, particularly when you have started to notice some problems with your car.

Why does my transmission make a clunking noise?

If your transmission mount or engine mount becomes loose or breaks, you may hear clunking noises whenever you make a sudden change in speed or whenever you shift gears, due to the movement of the unsecure mount.

Is there a ticking noise in the steering wheel?

I can also feel it faintly through the steering wheel. It’s not a ticking or hard knocking noise. Also, the noise is variable depending on the speed AND the duration of noise is also speed dependent (going slow, the thump is drawn out. Going faster, the thump duration is shorter.)

What’s the problem with my 2008 Sentra s?

Bought a new 2008 Sentra S back in Feb and have had an ongoing issue with the transmission. Any time I ease off the accelerator in 4th, 5th and 6th gear, I can hear a high pitched whining sound. Started noticing it before 1,000 miles and brought it to the dealership.

Why does my Nissan make a clunking noise when I start the car?

If that isn’t it, then while the hood is up, have someone start the car, and put it first in reverse, then in drive. If the engine jumps around when it goes into gear, then its most likely a bad motor mount. If not that, then jack the car up on both sides so that the front wheels are off the ground.

What makes a clunking noise when turning the steering wheel?

Hi all, I noticed a clunking noise coming from the front right side. I hear the noise when turning the steering wheel all the way or driving over pot holes. I did a quick search and found it could be a strut mounts or motor mounts. Any other suggestions where to look when I crawl under the car this weekend? Thanks for all the suggestions.

How to make clunking noise, front right side?

Doug has it right on what all it can be, but I will add a few things. First go to either side of the car with the hood up, and push the front end up, and down. While you’re doing this take a look at the nut that holds the strut to the strut mount on top of the fender.

What should I do if my front tire is clunking?

If not that, then jack the car up on both sides so that the front wheels are off the ground. Hold the front wheel with both hands on each side of the tire. Try to pick the wheel up, and down. You shouldn’t be able to move it up/down at all. If it moves, then the ball joint/lower arm is bad.
