Where does the trim go on a staircase?
This is my actual main staircase. The trim molding on the sloping stringer was cut off the top of a piece of baseboard. You can see how the stringer of the staircase appears to just bend over the front edge of the landing and continue as a piece of baseboard on the landing.
Where is the best place to put trim on a wall?
Trim works well along the middle of a wall, three-quarters down from the ceiling, around windows and doors, or along the edges of architectural features such as built-in bookcases or recessed panels in walls or ceilings.

Our one piece collections will have people doing a double take with just how amazingly stylish and slim you look.
Where do you draw a line on a stair stringer?
Trace the top edge of the baseboard now so the two pencil marks cross one another. Remove the baseboard and draw a line from the top intersection point of the two lines down to the point on the stair stringer where it transitions from flat to sloped. This line represents the miter joint between the two pieces of finished trim. © 2017 Tim Carter

In general, most particleboards are suitable for interior use only. However, one company, Smurfit Newsprint Corp., sells a particleboard trim product, Max Trim, for exterior use. Particleboard is manufactured from sawdust or planer shavings.
What kind of moulding do you use for base trim?
Narrow (shoe) and slightly wider (quarter round) moulding used along base trim. Blocks, usually square, used instead of mitering where two longer pieces meet. Wood trim used to provide visual detail to interior or exterior structures. Decorative, narrow moulding to help support hardware for picture and art hanging.
